Take a moment to revisit your childhood, to a birthday or a special event. The sheer excitement and anticipation of the celebration perhaps even kept you up all night with dreams of what was to come.
Your senior students are on the brink of graduation, and the excitement is mounting.
Last week, thanks to our friend at OSCI, we set up a video call with Gustavo, one of our soon-to-be graduates. One of the questions was, “How do you intend to use your education and discipleship training in the future?”
Gustavo said it perfectly: the impact of our education and discipleship training is not a distant future but a present reality.
“I am using it now!”
He is already facilitating a study, ‘Malachi Dads, which instills Biblical characteristics of integrity and fatherhood in men.
Through God’s divine timing and your generosity, you have empowered these men to step into the next chapter of spiritual and moral leadership within Oregon’s prisons.
It reminds me of the old Ray Boltz song/lyrics,
“Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.
Then another man stood before you, he said “Remember the time, a missionary came to your church, his pictures made you cry. You didn’t have much money but you gave it anyway.
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that’s why I’m in Heaven today.”
This is the tangible result of your efforts!
Thank you for transforming lives!
