Hello Supporters and Friends of PiFO,

As you know, live instruction at the Corban extension in the Oregon State Correctional Institution (OSCI) was halted in March of 2020 due to COVID-19.

However, the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) allowed Corban to submit education packets to our students in lieu of live instruction.

Since receiving the education packets, our students were able to complete their Freshmen year of studies on Aug. 31, 2020. What a miracle, thank you God!

And our students began their Sophomore year in the fall of 2020 and have continued uninterrupted learning since then. Our second cohort began their Freshman year on Feb. 16, 2021.

Soon this classroom will have a Corban professor and some students in it!

Professors Allowed To Teach at OSCI

We have been informed by the Oregon DOC that the professors from Corban will be allowed to come back into OSCI on May 10 for live, in-class instruction!

Although the education packets have provided the opportunity to continue to receive college credits, nothing beats live, face-to-face teaching.

Isn’t that more wonderful news?

Ripple Effect Fundraiser

On another note, our “Ripple Effect” virtual fundraiser has reached $198,000! This amount is more than any other fundraising event in the short history of PiFO.

Another praise God moment! If you missed the event, you can rewatch it on our YouTube channel.

What You Can Do Going Forward

Please continue to keep our students at the Corban extension in OSCI and the professors in your prayers. Additionally, if you would like to donate to the continued financial success of PiFO, you can donate through our website.
