Time flies by! PiFO and Corban have started the recruitment process for our third cohort of students. Our sophomore cohort and freshmen cohort are finishing up their first session of summer classes. The summer session consists of three five-week single classes which are very intense.
Laptop Fundraiser
Our students are also learning how to use the laptops that you purchased for them over the last two years. The computers are called Justicetech/Securebook laptops and are specially designed for the prison environment. The laptops have no internet access. Our students are the first-ever in the Oregon Department of Corrections to have their own laptops. Here is a photo of one

We need to purchase an additional 25 laptops for our third cohort which will be starting classes this fall. The price for each laptop is $700 which includes the operating system and Windows.
One of our donors has pledged to purchase 5 computers, so we have 20 to go. Would you be able to purchase one or even a portion of one? Last year we raised the total cost of $17,500 in just 3 weeks! Let’s see if we can do that again this year!
Ripple Effect Fundraiser Update

PiFO has received more donations from our Ripple Effect virtual fundraiser which took place on March 11 this year. Our goal was $250,000 and we are almost there!
To date, we have received a little over $217,000. If you were unable to attend the virtual event, you can watch an edited version on our website. Also, you could send the link to a friend and spread the good news!
Ever grateful,
