Dear PiFO Supporter,
Here is another testimony from a Paid in Full Oregon/Corban student at the college degree program in the Oregon State Correctional Institution (OSCI). This is the fifth in a series of essays that I will be sending to supporters of PiFO. Here is a message from J.B.:
Judge Tom Kohl and Esteemed PiFO Donors,
Greetings and may the peace of Christ be with you. Thank you all, God smiles upon you.
God spoke to you all as He inspired you to create and foster this bachelor’s degree program through Corban University, and you said, “Yes, here I am, send me.” This has had a wonderful ripple effect onto my family. Through you all, my sons belief that Jesus does save, has been revived, because I was cast away into the pit. They thought I was lost and that my faith might fail.
And then my family watched as God came through for me, through the hands of those He called and sent into action. YOU and they now know God is with me. And through people such as you, God will deliver me home.
Through my situation, the love of Christ and the mentorship program you began, I can reach fellow inmates who may feel lost or hopeless.
When I am eventually released, I can utilize the education I received from your program to help those who get released from prison and need a counselor/mentor to guide them through the reentry process. I can show them Christ’s love and redemption in their paths forward and help them see they have worth, are valued, and can be a viable member of society. God is with us, and I will continue to help others just as YOU have been sent by God to help me. You are part of God’s plan for my life.
Thank you, from my family and myself…YOU are God’s Blessing! I don’t just think you are; I KNOW YOU ARE!!!
Once again, I want to reiterate the impact you are having on men in prison. As JB mentioned above, you are having a ripple effect not only on our students but also on their families. Please continue to pray for our students, their families, and the staff at Corban and DOC.
