As a Judge for twenty years in the criminal justice system, I’ve sent hundreds of people to prison. Abraham Lincoln once said: “I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.”

And I agree. The scripture says, “Mercy triumphs over judgment!” (James 2:13)

Here is your opportunity to show mercy to a prisoner in a very powerful way. You can do it by investing in a computer for a student inmate. This is a very personal gift – a special gift directly from you!  And it is an essential tool for each student to get a bachelor’s degree.

For security reasons, they won’t know your name, nor can I share their name with you at this point. But you can be the one to supply a specially designed computer called a “SecureBook” to one of our 25 student inmates. That student will keep his computer as long as he needs it – even past graduation as he eventually serves others as a mentor or Chaplain’s assistant or peer counselor.

I’m excited about these computers because they come loaded with Bible software that gives every student inmate a robust Bible study tool! It’s pretty awesome.

With classes starting on October 14, we need 10 more computers to be paid for at a cost of $634 each. Please give an amount that is meaningful to you – $100, $200, $300 or the full amount. Or if God should lead and provide, you can give more than one computer!

I don’t know what God will have you do but I do know we need to have the money in hand by September 15, so we can place our order to have the computers ready for the start of the term.
